• Parents:   Parents are unconfirmed: Daniel Noel, 1665–1755, and Elizabeth Elliott, 1672–1752. An Elizabeth Noell does not appear in most Noel genealogies and cannot be documented (2022). ^[1]A nearly complete history of the Noel family is recorded in the book Emigrant, Cornelius Noel from Holland by Mary Roberts Noel pub. 1977, Salt Lake City, UT.  Very well researched, but additional … Continue reading In 1741 Daniel Noel prepared his LWT ^[2]Essex Co Deed Book 22 p334, 21 Dec 1741, naming five (5) sons and no daughters, even though he had  at least one daughter (Margaret Noel): sons Benjamin, Bernard, Cornelius, Daniel, and John Noel.
• Gouldman Kinship: … the Noels and Gouldmans were very close. Documentation has been lost in various fires for this area. There is a son Daniel Noel Jr that married an Elizabeth Gouldman per the Winston of Virginia and allied families family history ^[3]Torrence, Clayton, Winston of Virginia and allied families. Source: Vol 4, Ch 8, Section 2, … Continue reading, which documented both the early Gouldman and Noel families, notes that Elizabeth Noel, daughter of Daniel Noel, married ___ Gouldman (no first name recorded). Gouldmans and Noels were direct neighbors. The property of Francis Gouldman, c1695-1763, married to Winifred Caliborne, 1714-after 1770, adjoined that of Daniel Noel ^[5]See notes. • DNA Tested?
  ~~~ Yes. There are many Noel family descendants that are DNA (atDNA) tested. There are 11 DNA matches between myself (William Golden) with five descendant lines of children from Daniel Noel, 1665–1755, and Elizabeth Elliott, 1672–1752: Margaret Noel (Vawter), 1695–1756; Cornelius Noell (Donohoe), 1702–1755; Bernard Noell (Scott), 1706–1749; and Samuel Noel (Briggs), 1716–1774 … DNA match searches for other Golden family member lines that branched in the 1780s show similar numbers of matches.
• Birth: There is no record of birth. There is no record of existing except for a claim in the Winston of Virginia and allied families family history ^[6]Torrence, Clayton,. Winston of Virginia and allied families. Richmond, Va.: Whittet & Shepperson, 1927, page XXX
• Death: There is no record of death, but presumed after 1762. This is a statistical presumption and may be wrong. When Thomas Goulden/Golden was approved for a land grant of 200 acres in 1762, the assumption is that there were four individuals in the family, one being his wife (Elizabeth Noel). Truth be told: we do not know. Son William Golden was probably born about 1755. It could be that Elizabeth had passed away by or about 1755 when William was born (no record of his birth), and her passing pre-1755 is why she was not listed in presumed father Daniel Noel‘s late 1755 LWT. It can be that the 1762 land grant in Newberry, South Carolina derives from him and three children, not two children and a spouse. Thomas Golden appears in a number of records after 1762, through 1792, but never is a spouse mentioned.
• Children:
  ~~~ It is an assumption that William Goulden (Golden), c1750–1809, is a son and there was one other child living in 1760-1762 in Newberry, South Carolina. Per family notes of the Warren family of Newberry, South Carolina, their matriarch was Eleanor “Nelly” Golden, born c1745, passing away in 25 Oct 1809 or 25 Oct 1811 at Clouds Creek, Edgefield County, South Carolina. The Warren family claim is that she was married to William Warren, 1738–1807, and he had divorced her about 1798, remarrying a Helena LNU, in 1800. If William Golden’s wife had passed away, and Eleanor ‘Nelly’ had reassumed her maiden name, this would explain why she was in the 1810 census as head-of-household for William’s children. There is indeed a record that points to Eleanor Warren and Eleanor Golden being possibly the same person —  Charles Warren, born before 1781-1802: left a LWT in 1802 naming Eleanor Warren as his mother and the LWT was witnessed by Eleanor Golden (divorced from Charles’ father William circa 1798).
