Creeches are kin to William and Nelly Golden descendants. That kinship may intersect via intermarriage with the Etheridge family via marriage of Richard Creech Jr., 1705–1782, and Mary Etheridge, 1710–1790, of Norfolk, Virginia.
The Creeches were an early Jamestown and Norfolk, Virginia family. Arriving in Virginia and living 1635 in Jamestown. A Richard Creech, probable father to Richard born 1705, appears in the 1704 Quit Rent Roll for Nansemond County. [1]1704, Richard Creech living in Nansemond County, per The Quit Rents of Virginia, 1704, Genealogical Publishing Company, Baltimore, 1975, page 23. One genealogy lists his name as Richard Boynton Creech, 1662-1715.
Mary Etheridge, 1710–1790, was a grandchild of Thomas Etheridge, 1645–1719, and Eleanor Bright, 1649–1719, from the Norfolk area.
As of 2023, the author has four paternal-line Creech surname DNA matches. I descend from the Nathaniel Green Golden (NGG) line, born 1783. Samuel Golden, born 1770,a brother or first cousin to NGG, has seven (7) paternal-line Creech surname DNA matches.
The Creech family are also maternal kin to the author per DNA.
