DNA matches with Mullinax surname descendants, and with descendants with Mullinax in their tree exists across many branches of our Goldens that branched between 1770-1790. The Mullinax family can be found in various records as Molineaux, Molineux, Mulinix and some similar spellings.

DNA Connectivity: While the Mullinax family is undoubtedly part of our Golden family DNA admixture, am not so sure that they represent a direct lineage ancestor.

1817: Susan “Sukey” Mullinax,[1]Susan “Sukey” Mullinax is the daughter of Thomas Mullinax, 1776–1854, and Sarah Moss, 1774–1855. 1801–1860, married Abraham Childers,[2]Abraham Childers is the son of Jacob Childers, 1762–1844, Revolutionary War veteran, and Nancy Jane “Janney” Cagle, 1762–1856. 1790–1860, at York, York County, South Carolina. Abraham is 4th great-granduncle of William Golden, b1956. This marriage and subsequent descendants of this marriage does not offer any obvious explanation as to how Mullinax DNA matches appear across Golden family branches of 1770-1790.
1843: Robert Hezekiah Mullinax, 7 JAN 1843, York County, South Carolina born to Marion Francis Mullinax Sr, 1815–1859, born at ings Mountain, York County, South Carolina, and Cynthia / Syntha / Centhia (Sency) Childers, 1817–1893, also of York, SC. Robert passed 22 JUL 1903, Jasper, Pickens, Georgia. Direct shared DNA: Cynthia is my 1st cousin 5x removed.
