Bill Golding is a YDNA-tested descendant of William Golding (1704-1782) and Elizabeth Foster (1704-1775).

William Arthur “Bill” Golding passed away at age 86 as a resident of Mount Airy, North Carolina. He was husband of Mary Hope Booker Golding, and he was born in Surry County, North Carolina on July 7, 1921, to the late Parley Golding and Lula Dawson Golding.

During World War II, Bill served with the U.S. Marine Corps having served in the Pacific Theater during World War II, seeing major combat at Guadacanal with the 1st Marine Division.

He was sales manager for the Miracle Maid Division of West Bend Co. for 29 years before retiring, and a member of Franklin Heights United Methodist Church.
