Spouse: He is believed to have married several times. I can find no record of any marriage.
Military: U.S. Air Force service from 28 March 1957 to 10 June 1958.
Billy Gene released his album ‘Billy Golden, Country Music’s Golden Boy‘ on Starday records in 1968. Four sets of singles from the album were released in 1968 and 1969. The album can still occasionally be found on eBay or on Amazon.com as a country music rarity.

Starday Records was also home to the first album for the Oak Ridge Boys, with William Lee “Bill” Golden (1939, born in Brewton, Alabama) as a member. William Lee “Bill” Golden and Billy Gene “Bill” Golden are two separate individuals.
Not a lot is known about Billy Gene after the early 1970s. He passed away in 2003 in Bullhead City, Mohave, Arizona. Have searched for but have not found any obituary.
