Famous People that we Goldens are related to (kinda, sorta) but do not descend from: Davy Crockett of the Alamo.
William and Nellie’s granddaughter Sarah Emily Golden (1835-1881) by son Isaac Golden and his wife Ruth Sheehan, married Elijah Ballard (1816-1885), and their son Reuben Ballard married Lenora Crockett, 2nd great-grandaughter of Davy Crockett.
So there you have it. When you live in the boonies, you take what you can get when it comes to knowing famous people … =^) … ALTHOUGH Sarah Emily Golden’s descendants can claim that they are descended from Davy Crockett of the Alamo.
Davy Crockett’s relationship to me is 3rd great-uncle of wife of 2nd cousin 3x removed … and to you: ___.
