Tuscaloosa News – December 9, 2012

DUNCANVILLE Joseph “O’Neal” Golden, age 75, of Duncanville, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 6, 2012. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Bro. Ed Golden and Bro. Paul Barham officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryan O’Neal Golden and Neva Golden Smith, and his brother, Forrest Golden.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary Louise Golden; his children, Tony Golden (Sonya), Joe Golden (Lisa), Tina Williamson (Jay), and Ed Golden (Amy); a special friend who was like a son, Randy Allen (Mimi); eight grandchildren, Adam (Tiffany), Ashleigh (Allen), Heather, Josh (Amber), Matt (Angela), Hannah, Kristina, and Addison; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Jean Fairchild Cunningham (Jim), Joyce Fairchild (Marion), Marie Whittaker (Sonny), and Carol Barham (Paul).

Mr. Golden served honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was a proud veteran of the United States of America. Mr. Golden was a member of Safe Harbor Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and a wonderful musician.

Pallbearers will be Adam Golden, Josh Golden, Matt Golden, Jay Williamson, Allen Nail, and Wayne Cooper.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Aryanpure, Dr. Robards, Dr. Hill, Dr. Dinesh Chandra, the nursing staff of 5 North at DCH Regional Medical Center, and members of Safe Harbor Baptist Church.
