Mr. Rayburn Smith Golding, 76, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Carroll County on August 12, 1936 to the late Reuben Golding and Sallie Blackburn Golding Easter. Mr. Golding was retired from Amos and Smith Hosiery and was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Childress Golding of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristina and Wesley C. Nagel of Gastonia; a grandchild, Charles Wesley “Charlie” Nagel of Gastonia and a sister-in-law, Jayne Childress of Mt. Airy, a sister-in-law and husband, Claudine Beck and Roger of Siloam and a brother-in-law and wife, Wayne Childress and Teresa of High Point, and several cousins in the area.
