A Compilation of the Original Lists of Protestant Immigrants to South Carolina 1763-1773

BOOK – A Compilation of the Original Lists of Protestant Immigrants to South Carolina 1763-1773

An amazing book full of some 4,000 family names, ship names and details of origin … but no Goldens, Goldings or Gouldens and Gouldings listed. NOT being listed means that we probably came from the great Pennsylvania and Virginia immigration into South Carolina … which has been the suspicion all along.

>>> South Carolina underwrote foreign immigration by providing free land, basic farming equipment and animals, assistance to build a home, and two years of food support … BUT it was a limited offer available only to Christian Protestants. Catholics and most non-Church of England Christians were not eligible.
