Army 2nd Lt. Kenneth Edward Golden, son of M. Sgt. (MSGT Master Sergeant) Arthur E. Golden of Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Loretta Philbin of Youngstown, Ohio was killed in action in Vietnam.

Lt Golden had just arrived in Vietnam during the prior month and was assigned as the company commander of B Co, 60th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Bn. He was KIA at Kien Hoa, Vietnam, as part of Operation Coronado X.

The U.S. military began ‘Operation Coronado X’ on January 18, 1968, going through February 13. Operation Coronado X was a series of search and destroy operations; participating units: MRF 2nd Brigade, 9th Infantry Division and US Navy Task Force 117.
