1820 – Abbeville, South Carolina – The only formal reference that I know of to Lurana Susan Chiles Golding‘s existence was her father Nimrod Chiles’ LWT in 1805 and its probate in 1820. Most genealogies list only her birth year.

In her father Nimrod Chiles‘ LWT of 1805 (death c1808), he directs that final execution of his LWT and distribution of property be made when his youngest child Lucinda Childs reaches age 15. May 1820 appears to be that year — Lucinda Childs appears to have married Lewis Ball in late 1819 or very early 1820.

Lurana Susan Childs Golding, wife to Reuben Griffin Golding, named her first son: Nimrod Chiles Golding, born about 1811.

Reuben Griffin Golding, 1778–1834, of Newberry and Abbeville, South Carolina, was the son of Reuben Golding, 1741–1835, and Margaret Peggy Griffin, 1761–1837. This line descends from William Golding, c1704 VA – 1782 SC, and Elizabeth Foster, c1704 VA – 1775 SC.
