William Franklin “Frank” Golden and Nancy Ann Foust
Frank is my 1st cousin, three times removed (separated by three generations of time).
Frank was born 4 May 1844 in South Carolina and passed away on 16 Jan 1926 in Anderson County, Tennessee. Nancy Jane Foust was born 21 Jun 1850 in Tennessee and died on 19 Dec 1919 in Coal Creek, Anderson, Tennessee. Her parents were Christopher Columbus Foust, 1817 – 1896 and Susan Long, 1827 – 1912.
His parents were Joseph James Golden, 1818 – 1900 and Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” Wilson, 1822 – 1881.
Frank’s grandparents were Nathaniel Greene “Green” Golden Sr, 1788 – 1846 and Rachel Isabella Morgan, 1776 – 1850. There is no paper documentation of this anywhere that I know of … however, YDNA says that it is so.
There were 10 children:
- Moss E. Golden, was possibly an infant born shortly after the marriage. While I believe that ‘Moss E’ is really ‘Moss Alexander’, he appears in numerous genealogies as born in 1868.

- Susan Jane Golden, 1876 – 1939
- William Calvin Golden, 1877 – 1941

- Starla Golden, 1887 – 1902
- Nancy Elizabeth Golden, 1889 – 1910
- John Emory Golden, 1891 – 1978
- Lillie Bernette “Brudie” Golden, 1896 – 1993
