Golding / Golden / Goulding et al Family History on Facebook
John Dillard Golden was born 17 July 1868 in Georgia, probably in the Fannin County area — this is where the family lived during the 1870 census.
John Dillard was the son of Nathaniel Greene Golden (1812-1882) and Elizabeth Jane Sosebee (1848-1930).
During 1869 or very early 1870, John Dillard’s parents appear to have separated.
The Golden family took on their mother’s last name of Sosebee and that is how they were recorded in the July 1870 census, living next to their Sosebee grandfather: Thomas Jackson Sosebee (1816-1875).
By the 1880 census, the family had resumed use of the Golden surname.
John Dillard Golden married to Mary Etta Blankenship (1875-1961) in 1894 at Graham, North Carolina.
Children:
- Gay Douglas Golden (1897-1979)
- Pansy Veloura Golden (1900-1985)
- Ada Golden (1903-2004)
- Vera Velva Golden (1910-2003)
