He serves under English naval Captain William Mantell (1713-1765).[3]British Fourth Rate ship of the line ‘Centurion’ (1733) captained in 1754 by Captain William Mantell (1713-1765). See https://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=show_ship&id=3527 In 1754, Mantell was appointed captain of the famous English Navy ship, HMS Centurion with 54 guns. Mantell helped transport General Edward Braddock’s troops to Virginia in 1755 during the French and Indian War. It is possible that Thomas Golden provided militia support to arriving English troops participating in the war.
